Web Application Developer
The Web Application Developer at Modea is responsible for architecting and programming back-end systems from small microsites to large global enterprise systems. This role requires a firm grasp of object oriented programming in an Agile development process. The Web Application Developer works with the front-end teams to integrate complex systems with Flash and AJAX-based user interfaces. Projects and technologies used range in complexity. Web Application Developers at Modea become proficient in both PHP and dotNet. Knowledge of n-tier architectures and enterprise-level content management systems is desired.
You must be authorized to work in the US full-time at our offices in Blacksburg, VA.
Knowledge and Responsibilities
- You have a passion for solving complex problems with multiple dependencies
- You have excellent communication skills
- You can quickly adapt to the changing needs of an Agile development process
- You can demonstrate a strong proficiency in at least one of the following: PHP 5, C#/.Net 2.0 or later, ActionScript 2.0 or later
- You have a strong understanding of complex SQL programming, stored procedures and triggers
- You have the desire to lead and mentor members of your team
- You recognize the business objectives and constraints and plan accordingly
- You have experience with MVC design patterns and MVC frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or the Zend Framework
- You have exposure to, or working knowledge of JSON, XML, SOAP- and REST-based web services
- You have a Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university or six years equivalent development experience
